Warm your body and soul with this premium cashmere scarf!

When it comes to luxury materials this season, cashmere is undoubtedly the one to go for. Cashmere scarves are becoming more and more common these days, but the truth is that there is a wide range of grades. Therefore, even if the tag says 100% cashmere, don't immediately assume it's "high-quality cashmere." Cheaper scarves are of poor quality, and with continued use they lose their elasticity and become wrinkled. The Japanese scarf market is truly a mixed bag.

Among these scarves, those made in Scotland are considered to be the best. The top brand in this category is Johnstons of Elgin, which we will be recommending today. This long-established brand was founded in Elgin, Scotland in 1797, and its popularity in Japan is increasing every year. It is popular not only with men but also with women.

It's unclear whether they were available in Japan, but they were already being imported during the 1980s bubble era, and were highly trusted among fans of American and British traditional styles. At the time, most people who owned ties from the British brand Drake's also owned Johnstons of Elgin scarves (lol). I own four of them, and I only use plain 100% cashmere scarves. They've become an essential winter item.

Johnstons of Elgin's cashmere is made from the undercoat (downy hair) of carefully selected cashmere goats from China, Mongolia, and Afghanistan. The quality standards are much stricter than those of other brands, and no compromises are made in the manufacturing process. The cashmere is produced by skilled craftsmen at Johnstons of Elgin's own factory in Scotland. The result is cashmere's natural color, moderate elasticity, and delicate feel.

The company offers a variety of sizes, but this time we're introducing the easy-to-handle standard size (25cm wide x 180cm long) in both solid colors and the traditional Scottish tartan check pattern. For example, you can pair a solid color with a dressy Chester coat, or a check pattern with a casual knit style. Although it's a little pricey, it's still a great value considering you're getting a top-quality cashmere scarf. We highly recommend this scarf as a Christmas gift.
