Chronograph second hand that rotates once every 10 seconds
El Primero is a legendary automatic chronograph that first appeared in 1969. Since its release, the movement has undergone repeated refinements, and in 2019 it underwent its first major update. The updated El Primero 2, also known as the El Primero 3600, was first installed in a limited edition model in 20, before finally being introduced in a mass-produced model in 21.
This is the "Chronomaster Sports" we're introducing today. Its highlight is the chronograph seconds hand, which makes one revolution every 10 seconds! Normally, a chronograph seconds hand draws its power from the fourth wheel, which makes one revolution every 60 seconds, but the El Primero 3600 draws its power from the escape wheel pinion, and accelerates the speed with an intermediate wheel, in order to rotate the seconds hand at high speed. This is shown in slow motion from 1:31 onwards.

This 2021 model is equipped with the El Primero 2, also known as the Caliber El Primero 3600. The chronograph draws its power from the escape wheel pinion, and an intermediate wheel accelerates it, allowing the chronograph second hand to complete one rotation in 10 seconds. The bezel, marked with a 1/10-second scale, is made of ceramic. In addition to a white dial model, a black dial model is also available, each with a bracelet and strap.
