"El Primero 2" is installed in a mass-produced model for the first time

El Primero is a legendary automatic chronograph that first appeared in 1969. Since its release, the movement has undergone repeated refinements, and in 2019 it underwent its first major update. The updated El Primero 2, also known as the El Primero 3600, was first installed in a limited edition model in 20, and was finally introduced in a mass-produced model in 21.

This is the Chronomaster Sport we're introducing today. Its highlight is its chronograph seconds hand, which makes one revolution every 10 seconds! While a chronograph seconds hand typically draws its power from a fourth wheel that makes one revolution every 60 seconds, the El Primero 3600's seconds hand rotates at high speed, so it draws its power from the escape wheel pinion and accelerates with an intermediate wheel.

From 1:31 onwards, you can enjoy the slow movement of the escape wheel, intermediate wheel and chronograph runner.
