Hermès "Slim d'Hermès" Perpetual Calendar Expands Material Variations

In 2015, Hermès released its first perpetual calendar model in the elegant Slim d'Hermès collection. Five years later, in 2020, Hermès released a successor model featuring a sandblasted titanium case and an 18K rose gold or platinum bezel. We will introduce this model again, which was released in Japan around February 2021.

　The new Slim d'Hermès Perpetual Calendar is available in two different bezel materials. Both dials feature anthracite and feature hour markers in a unique and elegant font designed by graphic designer Philippe Apeloy. The clean, harmonious dial displays multiple functions, including a 12-month and four-year leap year indicator at 9 o'clock, a dual time display at 6 o'clock, a date display at 12 o'clock, and a moon phase display at 3 o'clock featuring a mother-of-pearl lunar disc set against an aventurine sky. The baton-shaped hands are rhodium-plated on the platinum bezel model and sandblasted and 18K gold-plated on the rose gold bezel model. Both models feature silver-colored hour markers and blue lacquer-finished dual time display hands.

The Slim d'Hermès Perpetual Calendar is powered by the H1950 caliber, manufactured by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, a Swiss movement specialist in which Hermès has a stake. Despite its multi-function capabilities, the movement, incorporating this module, is only 2.6mm thick. The automatic winding mechanism employs a micro-rotor and provides a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.

　The smooth, round case, measuring 39.5 mm in diameter, features a crown made of the same material as the bezel, pushers for easily adjusting the calendar function, and the angular, thin lugs common to the Slim d'Hermès series. The matte graphite-colored alligator strap is, of course, also made of Hermès leather, and the pin buckle is made of the same material as the bezel. It was released in Japan around February 2021.
