The El Primero is an automatic chronograph that debuted in 1969. By combining a striking horizontal clutch with a carrying arm and a compact reverser, it is a historic masterpiece that realized the creation of an automatic chronograph, something that was said to be impossible at the time.
This time, we will introduce the Caliber El Primero 3600, which was born in the year marking the 50th anniversary of the birth of El Primero, and the Chronomaster Sport, the first mass-produced watch to feature this movement.

Introduction model overview

Automatic winding. 35 jewels. 36,000 vph. Power reserve approximately 60 hours. Stainless steel (diameter 41mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. Price: 1,060,000 yen (excluding tax).
This 2021 model is equipped with the El Primero 2, also known as the Caliber El Primero 3600. The chronograph draws its power from the escape wheel pinion, and an intermediate wheel accelerates it, allowing the chronograph second hand to complete one rotation in 10 seconds. The bezel, marked with a 1/10-second scale, is made of ceramic. In addition to a white dial model, a black dial model is also available, each with a bracelet and strap.
