G-SHOCK's luxury line "MT-G" has evolved to become lighter and more durable

The MTGB2000YBD, a new addition to G-SHOCK's luxury "MT-G" collection, is difficult to notice at first glance as being different from existing models. However, once you hold it in your hand, you'll notice that it has achieved a surprising reduction in weight. We'd like to introduce this model, which further enhances the brand's renowned durability and practicality.

　Despite its large 49.8mm diameter case, the MTGB2000YBD is an astonishingly lightweight watch weighing just 131g. This technology combines the new MT-G laminated bezel frame with the latest G-SHOCK Carbon Core Guard structure to achieve both lighter weight and improved durability, achieving high strength, airtightness, and lightweight design all at the same time.

　Despite its sleek, lightweight design, the MTGB2000YBD is extremely robust. The bezel frame is made from 235 layers of carbon fiber and glass fiber, yet is approximately 77% lighter than a stainless steel frame. Carbon fiber sheets are wrapped around the case sides at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock to increase strength, and cylindrical carbon fiber sheets are wrapped around the lugs to enhance durability. A polygonal crown is also used to match the bezel design.

　The MTGB2000YBD's stylish and tough look is created by the combination of three materials: metal, carbon, and resin, giving it a unique dark and striking presence. The metal parts are also treated with G-SHOCK's special Zaratsu finish, which gives them a glossy mirror finish and high smoothness.

　The bracelet, which fits snugly on the wrist, has the same multi-layer structure as the case, and the back is hollowed out to increase the proportion of resin, further reducing its weight.The double slide lever structure makes it easy to put on and take off, and the three-fold clasp securely fastens it to the wrist.

　In terms of functionality, the watch is equipped with a standard radio wave reception function and a mobile link function that works with a dedicated app, automatically adjusting the time when a paired smartphone is nearby. It also features a high-brightness LED light to ensure visibility in dark places, making it convenient to use.
