For watch enthusiasts, the timepieces they collect represent the way they live their lives. Looking at their collections and asking them how they first encountered watches gives us a glimpse into what influences them and what they value in life.
The eight watch enthusiasts introduced here, and their beloved watches, are incredibly diverse. There is a whole world out there that cannot be lumped together as mere watch lovers. However, even if they may seem all different, the love of watches is unwavering and common to all. What is it about watches that attracts them, and what do they seek in them? And what have they gained from collecting watches? We will introduce eight "watch-loving paths" that reflect their way of life.

The Memovox has become synonymous with alarm watches. Released in 1950, this collection was one of the first to adopt automatic winding and a waterproof case, features that were considered difficult to incorporate into alarm watches, transforming it into a one-of-a-kind alarm watch. Furthermore, the evolution of the Memovox eventually led to the creation of a sports watch with an alarm, something that was previously thought to be impossible.
■Third Feature: Current Status of Japanese Watchmakers
As Grand Seiko's rapid progress in the GPHG shows, Japanese watchmaking is currently attracting great attention worldwide. Watchmaker Yosuke Sekiguchi traveled alone to Switzerland to learn his craft and establish a style of beauty that surpasses that of the original Swiss, while Naoya Tobita, a concept designer with extensive knowledge of watches, continues to explore the style of vintage watches that can only be created in the modern era. We take a closer look at the latest trends in these two world-renowned authenticities.
