　Seiko has revived the King Seiko, which, along with the Grand Seiko, led the development of domestic mechanical watches in the 1960s, as a regular model, and has announced five models inspired by the second-generation King Seiko, the KSK.

　King Seiko, which was released in 61, has a history of adopting cutting-edge designs and incorporating new technologies such as high-beat technology while maintaining a reasonable price.

　The design inspiration for the revival of the King Seiko regular model came from the second-generation King Seiko KSK. It retains features such as thick lugs, case shape, and faceted three-dimensional indexes in a compact size close to the original, resulting in a design that embodies the concept of "The Newest Classic." The King Seiko shield motif has also been revived and is engraved on the case back and crown. Furthermore, it is paired with a new multi-row bracelet that pays homage to King Seiko models from the KSK onward.

　The silver model features a dial color that replicates the KSK, while the metallic gray model features a vertical hairline pattern for distinction. The charcoal gray, brown, and red dials also feature a sunray finish.

　Equipped with the automatic caliber 6R31 with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, it is water resistant to 10 atmospheres and is practical enough to meet modern standards.

Prospex Save the Ocean

Seiko has added three new Save the Ocean models to the Seiko Prospex line, incorporating the extreme beauty of glaciers into their designs.

　Seiko Divers have been donated to the Antarctic Research Expedition four times since 1966 as equipment, and explorer Naomi Uemura used the so-called "1970 Divers" when he crossed the Arctic Circle by dog ​​sled, so it can be said that polar glaciers are the starting point of Seiko Divers' challenges. This new model was added to evoke this origin.

　In this model, the rugged appearance of the glacier is expressed in the texture of the dial, and a different color theme is selected for each model.

　The Prospex 1965 Mechanical Divers Modern Design Save the Ocean Model SBDC165, which features a deep blue dial that represents glaciers that have accumulated over a long period of time, is based on the modern design model of the 1965 Divers, the origin of Seiko divers.

The "Prospex 1968 Mechanical Divers Modern Design Save the Ocean Model SBDC167" is a model based on the modern design of the "1968 Divers." It features a light blue dial inspired by the glaciers of Antarctica, where Seiko Divers' challenge began.

The "Prospex 1969 Mechanical Divers Modern Design Save the Ocean Model SBDC169" is based on the modern design model of the "1970 Divers" used by explorer Naomi Uemura in the Arctic, and its white dial evokes the silvery white world unique to the Arctic.

　To celebrate the Oregon 2022 IAAF World Championships in Athletics, for which Seiko is the official timepiece, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer chronograph collection has added the Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph Oregon 22 Commemorative Limited Edition Model SBEC015. Only 400 pieces are available worldwide.

　Seiko has a history of continuing to innovate technologically since the 1960s to support athletes challenging themselves to make the most of every 0.01 second through accurate timekeeping. Since 85, Seiko has been the official timekeeper for the World Athletics Championships, organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), and will serve as the official timekeeper for the 17th consecutive year at the Oregon 22 IAAF World Championships to be held in Eugene, Oregon, USA in the summer of 2022.
