As luxury brands continue to pursue sustainable initiatives, from transparent resource sourcing to the development of recycled materials and environmental conservation activities, Tom Ford has released a new model of his signature "Ocean Plastic Timepiece," which focuses on marine plastic.

　As luxury brands accelerate their efforts toward the SDGs, Tom Ford's "N.002 Ocean Plastic Timepiece" is gaining popularity for its groundbreaking recycled materials.

　This series utilizes marine plastic, a type of waste found floating in the ocean. In collaboration with Tide Ocean, a Swiss company that has established a system for recycling marine plastic, which has long been considered difficult to recycle due to its high level of damage, the watch body and strap are made from 100% recycled "ocean plastic." What's also interesting is that the entire process, from material transportation to production, is thoroughly sustainable, with clear identification of raw material collection sites, carbon neutrality (zero greenhouse gas emissions), and the use of solar energy. In 2020, when the series was announced, the Tom Ford Plastic Innovation Prize was established to support developers of mass-produced alternatives to thin-film plastic, and the prize continues to this day, with the goal of bringing the product to market in 25.

　The latest model, the "N.002 Ocean Plastic Sports," is a sports model equipped with an automatic movement, a departure from the previous quartz model. The new bezel insert is also made from marine plastic. The screw-down crown and case back are made of stainless steel, achieving water resistance of 100m. The matte finish on the bezel and case, which at first glance appear to be ceramic, enhances the overall texture. In terms of design, the hour and minute hands are thicker and the indices are larger, giving the watch a more masculine impression. A new white color has also been added to the collection, which will surely look great against the seaside scenery this coming season.
