Piaget's new releases for 2022

Altiplano Ultimate Concept

　Piaget has announced a tribute model to the historic first Altiplano Ultimate Concept. The Altiplano Ultimate Concept (AUC) is an ultra-thin model with a finished thickness of just 2.0mm. The prototype was unveiled in 2018, with deliveries beginning in April 2020. Its distinctive design is a complete rethink of the watch's structure, with the back case serving as the base plate and the barrel assembled on top of it. In recognition of its world record thinness and high level of perfection, the watch won the Golden Hand Award at the Geneva Grand Prix de la Watchmaking (GPHG) in November 2020.

　This model is a tribute to the AUC's achievements, and the logo at the top of the dial is the same historic typeface as that used at Piaget's La Côte-aux-Fées Manufacture, where the brand is based. The date of AUC's founding, February 7, 2017, is engraved at 2:30 on the hour hand, and two white-framed indices among the dial's dotted indexes represent 7:47 PM, the time when AUC first struck time. The ratchet wheel is engraved with the name and coordinates of La Côte-aux-Fées, where the Manufacture is located. Furthermore, the background of the dial is coated with Super-LumiNova, recreating the starry sky of the time when AUC was founded.

Limelight Gala

　Piaget has added two Limelight Gala models to its signature high jewelry watch collection. The Limelight Gala collection is characterized by an asymmetrical design with a point symmetry around the dial center, and each model is the result of high-level metalworking and gem-setting techniques.

Limelight Gala High Jewelry

The Limelight Gala High Jewelry model features diamonds set in a flowing pattern that extends from the 18K white gold case. Each diamond is set in a variety of cuts, each with its own unique setting technique. The claw-set marquise-cut diamond, in particular, is one of Piaget's most important design codes, and is said to have originated when King Louis XV of France commissioned one in homage to the smile of his beloved Duchess. The more than 250 diamonds that make up this piece are harmoniously and skillfully set, embodying Piaget's motto: "Always do more than necessary."

Limelight Gala Precious

The Limelight Gala Precious model features green tsavorite and diamonds on the case sides and malachite and diamonds on the dial. The tsavorites used are round brilliant cut, an unusual cut, and the number of facets on the diamonds matches the design to create a harmonious look. The gradation from the colorless diamonds to the deep green was achieved through careful selection of gemstones over several months. The distinctive bracelet, with no visible seams, is decorated with Piaget's signature Palace decoration, which resembles rock and bark.
