Eddie Redmayne, star of "Fantastic Beasts," wears the much-anticipated Omega x Swatch "Moon Swatch"!

Eddie Redmayne, one of Britain's leading actors, visited Japan this week to promote the latest installment of the hugely popular "Fantastic Beasts" film series. Eddie's current favorite watch is the much talked about Omega and Swatch collaboration watch, the "Moon Swatch"!

Eddie Redmayne to star in film set 70 years before the Harry Potter series

　The "Harry Potter" series, which consists of eight films, continues to enjoy worldwide popularity. The "Fantastic Beasts" series is set in the 40s when one of the characters, Headmaster Dumbledore, is in his 40s. This series is planned to be a five-part series, and the latest film was just released in Japan on April 8, 2022, and is already being hailed as a major hit.

　Eddie Redmayne plays the main character, Newt Scamander, and this is his fifth visit to Japan, about three years and four months after promoting his previous film, "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."

　Eddie, who became an Omega ambassador in 2015, said at the inauguration dinner, "I've been a fan of Omega watches for many years. I'm thrilled to be officially appointed as an ambassador." It's easy to imagine that Eddie's elegance and humble attitude, which are in line with Omega's manufacturing spirit, resonated with him.

　Born into a prominent family in London, England, Eddie attended Eton College. He was a classmate of Prince William and both were members of the Eton Society, an exclusive society for the most popular and leading students at Eton. He later went on to study art history at Cambridge University.

　He met Hannah Bagshawe while modelling at a charity fashion show for a nearby girls' school, taking advantage of his 184cm height, while attending Eton College. They were friends for over 10 years and married in 2014. In 16 he was awarded an OBE, and recalled his memories of the investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, saying, "Her Majesty the Queen asked me if I was enjoying performing, and it was Christmas time and the decorations were amazing."

　Eddie could be said to have been a celebrity friend even before he decided to pursue acting, but he says, "When I go to auditions, I still sometimes look for accommodation on Airbnb, and I've even shared rooms with fellow actors," and he still has a down-to-earth side to him, preferring to travel by subway, which is winning the hearts of his fans even more. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for "The Theory of Everything," and it will be exciting to see what kind of works he will appear in in the future as an actor.
