Three models picked from Inhorgenta, the growing international jewelry and watch fair in Germany

Inhorgenta, the international jewelry and watch trade fair in Munich, Germany, took place from April 8th to 11th, 2022. Around 800 companies presented their new products at this important trade fair in the DACH market, which includes Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Inhorgenta is best known as a venue for the debut of jewelry and design, but in recent years it has also become increasingly important for watches.

The main brands exhibiting this time included Citizen, Alpina, Frederique Constant, Tutima, and Meistersinger, but this time we would like to introduce three models that made their debut here from Sinn, Junghans, and Mühle Glashütte.

Sinn "EZM1.1S"

　Frankfurt-based Sinn will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Mission Timer in 2022. The EZM, an abbreviation for the German word for Mission Timekeeper, was originally developed for the German Federal Police and customs special forces. Today, it is still produced for a wide range of professionals, including emergency medical teams, rescue workers, pilots, and divers, and is also popular among tool watch enthusiasts.

　As an anniversary model, the EZM1.1S embodies the collection's signature instrument-like design and robustness. The highest priority was exceptional legibility, allowing the time to be read with a glance, even in harsh environments. To that end, the EZM1.1S is equipped with Sinn's SZ01 chronograph movement. This automatic movement is based on the acclaimed Concept C99001, and features a centrally positioned chronograph 60-minute counter, making timekeeping easier, faster, and more accurate. Two key features of the EZM1.1S are that the counter measures 60 minutes per hand movement instead of the usual 30 minutes, and that the counter is read on a scale around the dial's perimeter rather than on a small dial, making it easier to read. Despite being a chronograph, the watch lacks a single small dial, instead focusing solely on the seconds and minutes counters. The bidirectional rotating bezel is fixed using a special joining method and is screwed in place, making it impossible to remove.

　The 43mm stainless steel case is finished with a black PVD and sand-matt finish, hardened with Tegiment technology, and water resistant to 20 bar. It also features Ar-Dehumidifying Technology to prevent fogging, and is resistant to low pressure and magnetic fields of 4800 A/m.

Mühle Glashütte "Twenty Niner Big"

　Mühle Glashütte, a traditional brand founded in Glashütte in 1845, has set sail with a new interpretation of the "29er Big." Named after a small yacht, this watch is designed for adventures on land and on water. The stainless steel case is water resistant to 100m and comes with a flexible canvas strap. The automatic movement is based on the SW200-1 and features a customized rotor and the brand's patented Woodpecker neck regulator for shock absorption. This movement complies with chronometer standards and achieves an accuracy of 0 to +8 seconds per day. The new model features a dark gray color on the flange and other parts for improved visibility.

Junghans "1972 Competition"

　Junghans was founded in 1861 in Schramberg, east of the Black Forest. In 1972, when Junghans' sports timekeeping was at its peak, the brand introduced a sporty wristwatch, and its distinctive models quickly became collector's items. Paying homage to its history, Junghans has breathed new life into this classic, creating an authentic remake. With its oval case and stopwatch-style pushers and crown, the 1972 Competition remains faithful to the original. The counters and tachymeter scale are bright orange, adding a unique touch to the dynamic design of this in-house automatic chronograph, based on the Sellita SW510.

　The stainless steel case is oval, measuring 41.0mm in height and 45.5mm in width, and is water resistant to 10 bar. It is scheduled to be released in July 2022, and only 1972 pieces will be produced worldwide.
