To mark its 40th anniversary, G-SHOCK has released a limited edition model themed around the Japanese sword, which is deeply connected to the spirituality of the Japanese people.
It is a watch that brings together the best of Casio's metalworking technology, living up to the name of the prestigious swordsmith, Gassan.

　The top-of-the-line G-SHOCK "MRG" line has been joined by the addition of the "MRG-B2000GA," a 40th anniversary limited edition model supervised and finished by Gassan Sadanobu, a swordsmith from the prestigious swordsmithing firm Gassan.

　One of the highlights of a sword is the texture of the jigane (iron) that is created during the forging process. This model uses "recrystallized hybrid titanium," a combination of wavy laminated 64 titanium and pure titanium, for the bezel, to express Gassan's distinctive "ayasugihada" (golden grain). The bracelet's center link is modeled after the tang (stalk) that fits into the tsuka (handle). Gassan himself filed and filed the tang with the same tang finish, and engraved the character "tempering" (forging) using the "meimeikirikiri" (mei-kirikiri) technique. The bezel, band, and case back are coated with a newly developed blue-gray AIP coating. This is inspired by the blue jigane (iron) of famous swords and the bright white of the forged blade.

　Turning your gaze to the dial, the hour and minute hands and indexes are a sharp, bright white, reminiscent of a forged blade. The dial features the texture of the thread wrapped around the handle, while the controls and second hand are gold-colored, reminiscent of the ornamentation on sword fittings. The rough-looking recrystallized titanium case is treated with deep hardening and titanium carbide to enhance the material's strength and abrasion resistance. Its extensive functionality includes Tough Solar, smartphone linking via Bluetooth, and time correction function for standard radio wave reception. The large crown unit and buttons ensure ease of use.
