The dial features a sunburst motif, inspired by the iris of an eagle's eye, with a radial pattern from the center to the periphery. The 42.3mm stainless steel case is equipped with the automatic caliber 52010, which has a power reserve of approximately 7 days. This long power reserve is produced by a Pellaton automatic winding mechanism reinforced with ceramic parts that are virtually wear-resistant. Fortis "Stratoliner S-41"

Automatic winding (Cal. WERK17). 26 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 60 hours. Recycled stainless steel 316L-1.4404 case (diameter 41mm, thickness 14.60mm). Water resistant to 20 bar. 748,000 yen (tax included). (Inquiries) Hotta Tel. 03-5148-2174

2022 has been a year of space-related news, with the start of observations by the James Webb Space Telescope and the successful launch of the first Artemis lunar exploration mission. The Fortis Stratoliner S-41 not only evokes a sense of connection to space, but also has an interesting story that could spark a conversation if you wear it.

The watch is powered by the Caliber Werk 17, an automatic movement made by La Joux-Perret for Fortis. Fortis partnered with the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) to send this movement into the stratosphere.

Near Kiruna, Sweden's northernmost city located within the Arctic Circle, 13 movements were fixed to rings and connected to electronic measuring equipment, and then sent 50km into the air by balloon.

The Stratoliner S-41 White Dust features a white dial and is finished with light blue luminous material. Fortis created this model to simulate Virgin Galactic's stratospheric flights for space tourists. The flight is divided into three parts: a 60-90 minute takeoff and climb, a rapid ascent of up to 90 seconds, and up to 15 minutes of weightlessness. These are measured by light blue markings.

The 41mm case is crafted from recycled stainless steel, and the smoked sapphire crystal caseback features a "spaceship window" that allows the user to view the column wheel in action.
