The pure white Ulysse Nardin Diver X Skeleton combines a powerful legacy with innovation

While the Marine collection features a classic design that has long been a symbol of Ulysse Nardin, the Diver X Skeleton is a cutting-edge watch that showcases a modern style. Its new white version is not simply a model characterized by its pure white appearance. It is an ambitious piece that expresses, with a more contemporary sensibility, the deep connection to the sea and the pursuit of innovation that Ulysse Nardin has upheld since its founding.

Starting with the birth of the Freak X and Skeleton X, since 2019 Ulysse Nardin has been actively developing timepieces based on the concept of “X,” which represents the “unknown.”

　Ulysse Nardin is a brand that first made its name known around the world when its in-house developed precision marine chronometers were highly praised at the Paris World's Fair in 1878. Since the 1980s, in recognition of this achievement, the brand has developed a flagship model with a classical design based on the marine chronometers of the past, while also focusing on timepieces with complex mechanisms, as exemplified by the "astronomical clock trilogy" (Astrolabium Galileo Galilei, Planetarium Copernicus, and Tellurium Johannes Kepler).

The uniquely shaped concave unidirectional rotating bezel, with a gentle inward slope, also helps protect the domed sapphire crystal from impacts.

The escape wheel, anchor, and balance spring, as well as the large oscillator (balance) visible at 6 o'clock, are all made of silicon. This material is resistant to magnetism and wear, and Ulysse Nardin was the first to use it in a wristwatch.

　Therefore, even though watch enthusiasts are known as a brand that pursues innovation, the modern and avant-garde design presented by the X Concept still made an impact, and at the same time, it also helped to widely demonstrate that Ulysse Nardin's creations had entered a new phase.

　One timepiece incorporating this unique concept is the "Diver X Skeleton," launched in 2021, which combines the designs of the brand's signature "Diver" and "Executive Skeleton" watches. Featuring an eye-catching skeleton dial with a bold X-shaped motif, the watch not only reveals the escapement and gear train structure, but also the crown switching mechanism and the texture of the barrel. Furthermore, the bezel is crafted from Carbonium®, an advanced material with a striking organic pattern used in the aerospace industry, further enhancing the watch's captivating design. With a futuristic look, yet ample performance for a diver's model, this new-generation model from Ulysse Nardin has attracted significant attention.

The case is made of titanium. While the previous two models were finished with blue PVD or black DLC, this new model makes use of the texture of the material to match the white exterior parts, and is finished with polished and satin finishes to create a sophisticated look.

The crown guard is made of white rubber, and the combination of different materials adds nuance to the look of the case side.

　The third model is the "Diver X Skeleton White." While retaining the distinctive skeleton dial, the new version features a white bezel and strap incorporating rubber, which, combined with the silver case and movement, enhances the lightness and sophistication of the watch.

　Like the previous two models, the Diver X Skeleton is equipped with the in-house automatic movement UN-372. A pale blue silicon oscillator can be seen at the 6 o'clock position, and as if synchronized with this part, the second hand and part of the X-shaped dial are colored blue, adding a subtle accent to the white and silver exterior. Furthermore, the rotor is boldly shaped like an X, and the design work that gives the front and back a unified look is truly impressive.

　This refreshing white diver's watch is perfect for the spring and summer seasons. While the Diver X Skeleton White exudes a sense of fashion, its cutting-edge skeleton design also highlights the brand's commitment to always being innovative.
