Ulysse Nardin's Freak was released in 2001. Featuring a central carousel mechanism in which the centrally located movement itself rotates and serves as the minute hand, as well as the elimination of the crown and the inclusion of a silicon escapement, the Freak was recognized as a watch that lived up to its name.
The newly announced "FREAK ONE" is a model that returns to the origins of the FREAK, following the three characteristics of the original FREAK: no dial, no hands, and no crown. The escapement is treated with "Diamonsil," a plasma surface treatment of synthetic diamonds and silicon, improving the movement's wear resistance and shock resistance.
To set the time, unlock the case at 6 o'clock and rotate the bezel. The automatic movement is equipped with a unique grinder automatic winding system, achieving high winding efficiency.
This model is said to incorporate a wealth of Freak technology that has been released so far. The case middle is made of titanium with black DLC coating, and the bezel is made of 18K rose gold.
