With so many new watches coming out, we're asking Yutaka Fukuda, also known as Rock Fukuda, from the popular YouTube video series "Watch Spirit," to explain the most noteworthy timepieces. He chose the Chopard LUC 1860, a reissue of the watch of the same name released in 1997. Not only is it a faithful reissue, but it's also been updated to appeal to watch enthusiasts, with the stainless steel material replaced with a proprietary in-house steel and a no-date display.

Our top recommended new model is Chopard's "LUC 1860"!
I was asked to write about new watches that were announced during Watches & Wonders 2023.
The first draft of the article has already been published as [Top 5 New Watches of 2023] (http://www.webchronos.net/features/94515/) In our previous report, we introduced the dream watches that enlivened the bright, fun, and festive atmosphere of the event.
This time, I would like to introduce some watches that I would like to buy, not as a dream but as a reality.
The watch that caught my eye was Chopard's "LUC 1860." As the name suggests, it is a reproduction of the first LUC model, the "LUC 1860," which was released in 1997.
In fact, I deeply regret missing out on the first model, and ever since, I've been hoping to buy one someday.
The main attraction is the in-house developed movement, Cal. LUC 1.96, and the 96 series is one of the few movements that makes you think, "I'd love to see it through a see-through caseback (personally, I'm not a big fan of see-through cases)." I also really like the understated, simple design and the small case size.
The new LUC 1860 inherits these characteristics of the original model almost exactly. The movement, Cal. LUC 96.40-L, looks almost identical to the Cal. LUC 1.96. The case size, 36.5mm in diameter, is exactly the same. The simple style of the wedge-shaped indexes and dauphine hands is also the same as the original.
