Edox Skydiver 38 Date Automatic: A scaled-down reproduction of a military watch

　Edox's Skydiver collection is a reproduction of military watches used half a century ago. In 1973, a colonel in the Swiss Army's elite parachute unit secretly commissioned Edox to produce a tough, high-spec military watch that could be used in any environment, whether on land, sea, or air. The existence of the watch came to light when design drawings were discovered in the archives of Edox's factory, and in 2019, to commemorate the 135th anniversary of the company's founding, the Skydiver collection was released as a reproduction. While faithfully recreating the original design, the timepiece incorporates the latest technology and materials throughout.

A modern reproduction of an archive piece from half a century ago

　The thick, high-hardness sapphire crystal has been processed into a beautifully curved dome shape, achieving a retro look reminiscent of the time. As a modern twist, the screw-down case back is engraved with a parachute corps motif and the Edox logo. The date display at 3 o'clock was added as it is a necessary specification for modern daily use.

　The case diameter has been reduced by 4mm from the previous model to a comfortable 38mm. It also features a new buckle with an adjuster that allows for fine adjustments to the wrist, resulting in a more comfortable fit.

Waterproof performance

　The combination of an airtight screw-down crown and a robust case structure ensures high water resistance of 300m, making this a diver's watch worthy of the brand's concept of "THE WATER CHAMPION."

An original bezel that combines aesthetics and functionality

　The bezel, which is the most susceptible to scratches, is made of high-tech ceramic. It has the same hardness as sapphire, making it highly scratch-resistant and resistant to corrosion and deformation, ensuring the beauty of the front of the watch will last for a long time. Of course, it also has a unidirectional rotation prevention mechanism, which is essential for a serious diver's watch.
