Roger Dubuis has added the Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph to its new Excalibur Spider series, which embodies the spirit of modern racing. This limited-edition model was unveiled as a collaboration between the Maison and Lamborghini Squadra Corse, and is a variation of the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph unveiled at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, a motorsport event.

Inheriting Lamborghini's latest racing style
Roger Dubuis has announced the new Excalibur Revuelto Spider Flyback Chronograph as a testament to its long-standing partnership with Lamborghini's racing division.

Automatic movement (Cal. RD780). 39 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 72 hours. Lightweight carbon case (45mm diameter). Water resistant to 100m. Price upon request. Boutique limited edition of 88 pieces.
This model, which was released as a variation of the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph in 2023, draws inspiration from the Lamborghini Revuelto, Lamborghini's first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in machine. With a silhouette reminiscent of a modern racing car and cutting-edge turbocharging, it is sure to capture the hearts of sports car fans.
The three-dimensional and dynamic face is immediately noticeable with its vivid orange color, symbolic of modern sports cars. A Y-shaped bar at the center of the dial not only harmonizes with the green of the minute track, but also stands out as an iconic feature on the openwork dial. It is reminiscent of the headlights of Lamborghini's V12 hybrid supercar, expressing respect for its excellence.

The case is made of lightweight carbon fiber, and the bezel is made of ceramic. Both are lightweight and strong materials essential for modern supercars, making it a tribute to motorsports. The green rubber, with tire-marked notches, is accented with orange stitching, enhancing the overall design.

Relentless pursuit of performance
This model is equipped with the latest chronograph engine, "Cal. RD780," designed from scratch by Roger Dubuis' watchmakers. Instead of the conventional approach of incorporating a chronograph module, this model employs an integrated chronograph mechanism, and with its flyback function and approximately 72 hours of power reserve, it embodies "Hyper Horology™," which redefines the concept of luxury watchmaking.

The skeletonized structure of this watch allows a glimpse of its mechanism, and it is equipped with a balance wheel tilted at 12° at the 9 o'clock position. This balance wheel's moment of inertia has been raised to the same level as a tourbillon, ensuring durability against everyday shocks and reliable high precision.

This watch also features two innovative mechanisms for which patents are pending, further enhancing the performance of the chronograph function.
The first is the Second Brake System (SBS) on the vertical clutch, which is connected to one of the clamps and significantly reduces the fluctuation of the chronograph seconds hand, providing a more stable and crisp stop.

Another innovative feature is the 120° rotating minute counter (RMC) located at 3 o'clock. This RMC displays measured time using a triple hand displaying 0, 1, and 2, as well as a rotating disc engraved with the numbers 0 through 9. This not only expresses the watch's creative racing spirit, but also provides excellent legibility.
