Glashütte Original adds limited edition Senator Chronometer Tourbillon model

Glashütte Original has announced a limited edition Senator Chronometer Tourbillon. This flying tourbillon watch features a zero-reset mechanism and a minute detent. It comes in a platinum case and is limited to 50 pieces.

　Glashütte Original has announced a limited edition model of the Senator Chronometer Tourbillon, a complication watch equipped with a flying tourbillon.

　At the 6 o'clock position on the dial is a flying tourbillon with a blue pointer that serves as the second hand, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the slow, leisurely beat of the balance wheel and its rotating cage. At 12 o'clock are the day/night indicator and the subdial showing the hours and minutes, and at 9 o'clock is the power reserve indicator. Surrounding these are plates with laser-engraved Clous de Paris decoration and chamfered bridges, allowing visitors to appreciate the company's characteristically intricate finishing. The overall watch is unified in a subdued color scheme, with blue hands and indexes enhancing visibility.

　The movement used in this model is the in-house hand-wound Cal. 58-06, which boasts a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, high magnetic resistance thanks to a silicon balance spring, and high precision certified by a German chronometer. It also features a mechanism that makes it easy to adjust and read the time.

　When adjusting the time, pulling the crown out one notch stops the vertical clutch, stopping the balance and securing the tourbillon cage. Pulling the crown out another notch causes the cage to rotate smoothly, returning the attached blue pointer to the zero position. This allows for precise time setting. Furthermore, the movement's minute hand does not move continuously, but instead jumps one notch for each revolution of the second hand. This allows for accurate reading of the time down to the minute and second.

　The 42mm case is crafted from platinum and, despite its complex movement, is only 12.6mm thick. It is presented on a dark blue Louisiana alligator strap with a platinum butterfly clasp.

This work will be presented in a white oak box and will be sold in a limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide.
