A support campaign for students taking entrance exams and those who are watching over them

A wristwatch is an essential item for exams, where smartphones and other electronic devices are not permitted. Citizen's "Give a Quiet Cheer" campaign is a way to give such a watch to test-takers as a token of support, encouraging them to take the exam.

During the campaign period, if you purchase a watch as a gift for a student taking an exam at a Citizen flagship store or the official Citizen Watch website, you will receive a special gift of an original Citizen "Blooming Message Card."

The message card has a cute cherry blossom petal motif. You can write a message on the back, and when folded, it can also be used as a good luck charm for exams.

As part of the campaign, two special movies have also been released: "Quiet Cheers - Father's Edition" and "Quiet Cheers - Daughter's Edition." The videos carefully portray the feelings of a daughter taking an entrance exam and her parents from each of their perspectives, and are intended to send a little encouragement to parents whose children are about to take exams.

The daughter role will be played by actress Ayaka Namiki, who made her debut in the entertainment industry at just 10 years old and has since appeared in dramas such as "Fight Song" (TBS), "Spiritual Detective Hisui Shirozuka" (NTV), "Lucky Person" (NHK), and "Kamen Rider Geets" (TV Asahi).

Stainless steel case (33mm diameter, 7.7mm thick). Water resistant to 5 bar. Price: 48,400 yen (tax included).

The background to the production of this movie is the "changes in parent-child relationships during the exam period" that parents or children feel. A survey conducted by Citizen in 2023 found that during the university entrance exam period, approximately 30% of parents and children experienced strained parent-child relationships compared to usual, and one in three test-takers felt that their parents were interfering. The survey also found that approximately half of parents did not know what to do for their children as they approached the exams.

If you know someone taking an exam, why not take this opportunity to give them a watch along with a message card to show your support?
