Citizen Watch employees won gold, silver, bronze and the Fighting Spirit Award in the "Watch Repair" category at the 61st National Skills Olympics!

An employee of Citizen Watch Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a manufacturing subsidiary of Citizen Watch, won the gold medal in the "Watch Repair" category at the 61st National Skills Olympics, held in Aichi Prefecture from November 17th to 21st (competition days were the 18th and 19th). The employee also won the silver medal, bronze medal, and fighting spirit award.

Competition content: "Watch repair"

　The two-day competition covered three areas: troubleshooting and repairing quartz watches, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical movements, and manufacturing watch parts. Seven people from the Citizen Watch Group participated.

　As a manufacturer capable of producing everything in-house, from wristwatch parts to assembling and adjusting finished watches, the Citizen Watch Group is participating in this competition with the aim of passing on technology and improving the skills of its engineers.Going forward, the company will continue to train young skilled workers and pass on its skills through its efforts in the WorldSkills Competition.

About the National Skills Olympics

　The competition has been held annually since 38, with the aim of raising the skill level of young skilled workers in Japan and fostering respect for skills, with young skilled workers, generally aged 23 or under, competing to be the best in Japan in over 40 occupations, including watch repair, machine assembly, and car body painting.
