Cartier has announced four Japan-exclusive models. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Cartier's boutique in Japan. These limited edition models celebrate this memorable year. The lineup includes the minimalist and monochrome Tank Française, a yellow gold Santos de Cartier three-hand model, the Santos de Cartier push-button chronograph, and the Panthère de Cartier, which incorporates motifs discovered in the company's archives.

Cartier announces four Japan-exclusive models

 Cartier has announced four Japan-exclusive models, including one that will be released in March. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Cartier opening its boutique in Japan, and these limited edition models can be said to celebrate this memorable year.

Monochrome and minimalist Tank Française, a Japan-exclusive model

 The first model is the Tank Française, released in March. Based on the Tank Française, which was redesigned in 2023, it features an opaline dial with a radial sunray finish, creating a minimalist and monochrome look. The heptagonal crown is set with a moonstone cabochon.

Automatic movement (Cal. 1847MC). 23 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 40 hours. 18K yellow gold case (47.5mm x 39.8mm, 9.38mm thick). Water resistant to 10 bar. Limited to 50 pieces in Japan. Price: 6,204,000 yen (tax included). Scheduled for release in September 2024.

 The second model is the Santos de Cartier in 18K yellow gold. Its case measures 47.5mm in height and 39.8mm in width, making it a large model. The gorgeous yellow gold case features a satin-finished base, creating a subdued finish. The heptagonal crown is adorned with a sapphire cabochon. The gray dial, with its matte grained finish, is paired with lustrous applied indexes.

 A unique feature of this watch is that the indexes are painted on the sapphire crystal rather than on the dial. This design adds depth and three-dimensionality to the face of this watch. The 18K yellow gold bracelet is equipped with the Smart Link system and Quick Switch, and can be easily replaced with a second strap made of semi-matt gray alligator. The movement is the automatic Cal. 1847MC. This watch will be produced in Japan only in 50 pieces.

Automatic movement (Cal. 1904-CH MC). 37 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 47 hours. Stainless steel case (51.3mm x 44.9mm, 12.4mm thick). Water resistant to 10 bar. Limited to 220 pieces in Japan. Price: 1,742,400 yen (tax included). Scheduled for release in September 2024.

 The third model is the Santos de Cartier one-push chronograph. Its case measures 51.3mm long and 44.9mm wide, and the crown is set with a blue synthetic spinel cabochon. It is equipped with the automatic chronograph movement, Cal. 1904-CH MC, and the chronograph is operated using the push-piece at 3 o'clock.

 The glossy applied indexes have a grained finish that contrasts with the matte gray dial, and the seconds scale required for measurement is depicted on the sapphire crystal. The bracelet is equipped with the Smart Link system and quick switch, and can be easily replaced with a second black rubber strap. This model is scheduled to be released in September and will be limited to 220 pieces in Japan.

Quartz movement. 18K yellow gold case (30.3mm x 22mm, 6mm thick). Water resistant for everyday use. Limited to 150 pieces in Japan. Price: 3,696,000 yen (tax included). Scheduled for release in September 2024.

 The fourth model is the elegant women's collection "Panthère de Cartier," which features a dial design incorporating a "wallpaper motif" discovered in the personal archives of the third-generation head of the family, Louis Cartier.

 The dial is surrounded by an 18K yellow gold bezel and is paired with a "Panther Bracelet" reminiscent of a geometric pattern that echoes the wallpaper motif. The Panther Bracelet is flexible and reflects the movement of the animal that symbolizes the Maison. The crown of this watch is set with a spessartite garnet cabochon, adding a touch of red to the yellow-based piece. This watch is scheduled to be released in September and will be limited to 150 pieces in Japan.
