OMEGA, the official timekeeper of Paris 2024, will hold "OMEGA Paris 2024" in six locations in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

On July 26th, the curtain rises on the Olympic Games in Paris, the capital of France, kicking off a fiery summer sports festival. Omega, which will serve as the Official Timekeeper for the Olympics for the 31st time since 1932, will host the Olympic-themed "Omega Paris 2024" in six locations: Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

"Omega Paris 2024" pop-up has launched!

　The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are about to begin. The opening ceremony will be held on July 26th. Omega, which will serve as the official timekeeper of the Games for the 31st time since 1932, will be hosting "Omega Paris 2024" in six locations in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka to celebrate the event. Four of these locations will be pop-up locations.

■ Event space on the first floor of Daimaru Tokyo store (Tokyo) July 31st (Wed) - August 13th (Tue)

　The pop-up will be set in a venue that evokes the energy and excitement of the Olympic Games, and will look back on the evolution of OMEGA's timekeeping technology over the past 92 years, while also showcasing the timing equipment that will be used at the upcoming Games. OMEGA will also be selling products that pay homage to the Olympic Games, including timepieces created to commemorate Paris 2024, as well as NATO straps featuring various national flags.

　Among the timing devices on display is the electronic starting pistol, one of the famous timing devices developed by Omega. First introduced in the speed skating events at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, this device solved a major problem in sports where 1/1000th of a second counts. This pistol, which is also used in track and field events, lights up the tip of the pistol when the trigger is pulled, and the starting signal activates the timing equipment. Most importantly, the starting sound is emitted from speakers installed on each athlete's starting blocks or from an external loudspeaker, allowing all athletes to hear the sound at exactly the same time.

　Through this pop-up, we can understand part of OMEGA's story of how the mission of timekeeping has evolved from a simple watch with a stopwatch function to the world's most cutting-edge technology.

　In addition to the Paris 2024-themed showcase displays currently being displayed at all Omega Boutique JR Nagoya Takashimaya, a graphic inspired by an athletics track will be on display in front of the boutique until August 13th, entertaining visitors.

　From July 24th to August 13th, the show window facing Ginza Mitsukoshi's Chuo-dori avenue will be taken over. The international campaign video, depicting famous Parisian landmarks as a stage for sporting glory, and the dynamic visuals on the banners hanging on the building's walls will delight passersby and evoke the excitement of the Olympics.
