A new model has been announced from the MoonSwatch, a collaboration between Swatch and Omega. Celebrating the first super blue moon of 2024, it's the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Blue Moon Phase. A key feature of this model is the adoption of a pulsometer scale, a first for a MoonSwatch.
The first Moonswatch with a pulsometer scale
The MoonSwatch, a collaboration between Swatch and Omega, has been highly popular among a wide range of users since its launch in 2022. To celebrate the first super blue moon of 2024, MoonSwatch has announced a new model: the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Blue Moon Phase.
Quartz movement (Cal. 8926). Bioceramic (diameter 42mm, thickness 13.75mm). Water resistant to 3 ATM. Grade A Super-LumiNova® (blue luminescence) applied to the hour, minute, and chronograph second hand tips. Price: 46,200 yen (tax included).
In addition to the chronograph function, this model features a moon phase display in various shades of blue, crafted using UV ink and set against a dark celestial background, located on the subdial at 2 o'clock. While all other watches in the Bio-ceramic Moon Swatch collection feature a tachymeter function, this model's bezel is notable for its additional blue pulsometer scale with white markers.
The Panda Dial is also sure to appeal to watch enthusiasts, featuring a silvery opaline dial with contrasting blue subdials in various shades of blue, from light to dark blue.
Like all MoonSwatch collections, this watch is made from Swatch's patented bioceramic, a unique blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third castor oil.
Unique Mission Statement
The new watch features a unique mission statement engraved on the caseback and the "OMEGA X SWATCH" logo on the dial and crown. The battery cover features a moon displaying various shades of blue, and the blue VELCRO® strap, suitable for space suits, completes an astronaut-worthy look.
