LVMH Watches & Jewelry Watchmaking Academy Recruits First Class! "Two Years Where Learning Will Be Your Greatest Job"

LVMH Watches & Jewelry Japan Co., Ltd. is recruiting for the first batch of students for the "LVMH Watches & Jewelry Watchmaking Academy." The biggest feature of this recruitment is that "learning will be your biggest job for two years." This is a program in which participants can join the company as full-time employees, rather than as students, and undergo two years of training with the aim of becoming watch repair technicians.

LVMH Watches & Jewelry Watchmaking Academy opens applications for first class

　LVMH Watches & Jewelry Japan Co., Ltd., which handles luxury watch and jewelry brands such as Bulgari, Hublot, Zenith, and Tag Heuer, owned by the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Group (hereinafter referred to as the LVMH Group), in the Japanese market, is recruiting for the first class of students for its "LVMH Watches & Jewelry Watchmaking Academy" program.

　The LVMH Watches & Jewelry Watchmaking Academy is a special training program with the mission of "cultivating world-class watch repair technicians." To become a watch maintenance technician, one typically completes a curriculum at a specialized school and then joins a watch company, where they are assigned to the maintenance department and master their skills. However, this program promotes itself as "two years in which learning becomes your greatest work." After being hired as full-time employees rather than students, trainees spend two years in a training program on repair work, including repairing, cleaning, adjusting, and estimating the quality of LVMH brand watches. The goal of this program is to earn a national certification as a watch repair technician, administered by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. After completing the program, trainees will actually be involved in repairing LVMH brand watches.

Those who are 18 years of age or older at the time of joining the company and fall under any of the following categories:
1. High school graduates (or prospective graduates) or above
2. Those who have passed or are scheduled to pass the High School Graduation Equivalency Examination (formerly the University Entrance Qualification Examination)

Those who want to acquire repair skills through training and practical experience at Swiss and Italian watch brands
Anyone interested in the luxury industry

9:30am - 5:30pm (60 minute break) 7 hours of work per day

Monthly salary: 22 yen (transportation expenses provided separately)

Academy training program

　Over the two years at the academy, students will learn the general theory of watches, how to operate machines, how to maintain and make tools, how to work on the exterior of watches, how to remove and attach dials and hands, and how to overhaul mechanical and quartz watches.

　The training program is divided into classroom and practical training, with the first quarter of the first year being classroom training, and practical training from the second quarter onwards. Practical training is provided for both exterior and interior work, and the curriculum is wide-ranging, including overhauls, as well as adjusting the precision of mechanical watches, replacing batteries in quartz watches, and assembling and waterproofing tests for exterior repairs.

　In addition, English lessons are also available to foster global talent.
