Victorinox's "Inox" series has been expanded with the addition of the medium-sized model "Inox V," measuring 37mm in diameter. While the previous Inox model had a case diameter of 43mm, the surprising thing about this model is that, rather than simply downsizing the case, the company has completely redesigned it from scratch to maintain its robust specifications. Additionally, the weight is approximately 30% lighter.
The Inox was released in 2014. It's an unrivaled watch, undergoing 30 unique durability tests, including a 10-meter drop onto concrete, a pressure test in which it's run over by a 64-ton tank, sand and dust resistance in a sandstorm and a washing machine for approximately two hours, water resistance, heat and cold resistance tests from -51°C to +71°C, a weight test with acceleration and deceleration of 12G, and corrosion resistance tests with chemicals such as gasoline, solvents, detergents, and pesticides. Adding these to the National Institute for Horological Sciences (NIHS) tests brings the total to 130 tests, making it perhaps the most demanding durability test for a watch in the industry.
The new Inox V comes in four variations. The dials are available in black, white, blue, and gray. They can be paired with rubber or rose cord straps accented with red or pink accents.
