The "Platinum Ten Minutes" and "Golden Hour" are terms used to define actions in rescue and lifesaving operations, where every second counts. This refers to administering first aid to critically ill patients within the first 10 minutes and transporting them to a hospital within one hour of an accident. The EZM12's count-up inner bezel accurately measures the "Platinum Ten Minutes" with orange markers on a black background and the "Golden Hour" with white markers on a background that changes from black to orange. By operating the crown at 10 o'clock to move the start point of the inner bezel closer to the minute hand, the remaining 10 minutes and 10 hour from the start of the rescue can be quickly read. The count-down rotating bezel can also be used to monitor the time it takes for a patient's medication to take effect or to track the time remaining before an emergency helicopter takes off.
Needless to say, a pulse rotor (pulse meter) that measures pulse rate is also located on the inner circumference of the dial.
