Seiko Watch will release the Locomotive, a watch designed by Gerald Genta that had a major influence on establishing Credor's originality, as part of Credor's new design series on Friday, May 23rd. The suggested retail price will be 187 million yen (tax included).

One of the most iconic models in Credor's history, the Credor Locomotive, was released in 1979 by watch designer Gérald Genta, who pursued a unique design that reflected the brand's unique originality. Genta created many masterpieces that have left their mark on watchmaking history, earning him the nickname "Picasso of the watch world" for his avant-garde and diverse designs. At the time of development, Genta visited Japan many times and built a close relationship with Seiko, and it is said he took great delight in designing a watch for Credor. The name "Locomotive" was coined by Genta during the model's development, with the hope that it would "drive Credor forward and become a model that will shape the future." While Genta has designed numerous watches, it is said that it was rare for him to serve as a godfather.
Deep green dial with intricate hexagonal dial pattern
The dial embodies Credor's determination to further evolve the Locomotive, which was created in collaboration with watch designer Gérald Genta, and to forge ahead on new paths. The dial color is a deep green, representing "Green Light*," combined with a fine hexagonal pattern. Each hexagon features alternating stripes in different directions, creating a dial that appears to flicker in color depending on the angle of the light.
*The term "green light" comes from the Japanese word "green light" and is used to mean "the go-ahead sign to move forward with something."
The iconic hexagon is featured throughout
The hexagon, a symbol of Locomotive, is featured throughout the watch, including in the case design, crown, bezel screws, and bracelet links.
The Locomotive, which was revived in 2024, features a hairline and mirror finish on both the bezel and case, further highlighting the iconic hexagonal design.
The case is also secured with six paired screws, making it suitable for long-term use.
A meticulously crafted bracelet characterized by its smoothly tapered edges.
The Locomotive bracelet features tapered links that smoothly connect from the case to the clasp, and hexagonal center links. Each link is individually hand-finished by skilled artisans. In addition, the slopes on both ends of the links are polished to allow the light to shimmer with the movement of the wrist, creating a beautiful look. The bracelet, with its softly rounded links, is comfortable to wear.
A thin automatic mechanical movement exclusively for Credor
The watch is equipped with the mechanical movement Cal. CR01. By incorporating a slim, three-hand mechanical movement, it achieves an elegant form with a thickness of less than 9mm, just like the original model equipped with a quartz movement.
