Capek's new "Promenade" collection has been unveiled. The theme is "pleats." These are the pleats that are added to clothing such as skirts and dresses. The pleats create a bold curve, centered around the small seconds hand at 4:30.

An ambitious piece featuring bold, undulating pleats on the dial
In February 2025, Capek unveiled the Promenade Plissé, featuring a new fashion-inspired dial that skillfully plays with light and shadow to create a captivating illusion.

The Promenade collection, unveiled at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2024, was born from the desire to create chic and modern watches that are more than just timekeeping devices, but also canvases for creative expression.

As with many of Capek's previous developments, the journey from idea to realization was not a straight one. The initial goal was to create a collector's quality women's watch.

But the idea evolved beyond that to a desire to create a chic, modern watch that would appeal to both men and women who appreciate sophisticated style and an intricately decorated movement.

"We have always believed that gender divisions in watchmaking are largely artificial," said Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Capek. He continued, "Beauty and creativity unite men and women. Creating beautiful watches cannot be reduced to a gender binary. Just as a beautifully tailored smoking suit looks equally good on men and women, a beautiful watch appeals to both sexes."
Housed in a slim 38mm case, the Promenade exudes relaxed, quiet, and confident sophistication, infused with playfulness and joie de vivre. The Promenade's dial is characterised by its asymmetry: the design radiates from the small seconds at 4:30, creating a dynamic tension.

The Promenade Plissé collection references some of the most famous pleats in fashion history, including Marilyn Monroe's chic and sexy white pleated dress in "The Seven Year Itch," Issey Miyake's futuristic pleats (for both men and women) and lightweight silks, which blend couture tradition with high technology, and Yves Saint Laurent's timelessly modern Smoking, created in 1966 and the originator of androgynous style.
