Pre-orders for the special edition "Diamond Star Original x Tej Chauhan," the second collaboration between Rado and Tej Chauhan, a world-renowned designer based in London and Helsinki, began at Isetan Shinjuku on April 7th.

Following their first collaboration in 2020, Rado and Tej Chauhan have now announced their second collaboration. While the previous collaboration was a special version of the True Square, this time Tej Chauhan's design touches are added to the Diamond Star Original. Rado's Master of Materials technology and Tej Chauhan's sophisticated design combine to create a new look that is both futuristic and elegant.
A master of evocative design
Tej Chauhan advocates "Emotive Industrial Design," creating products that evoke emotion through strategic combinations of shape, color, and material. Based in London and Helsinki, he has become a globally recognized designer after his time at Nokia, and has won numerous awards. In his collaboration with Rado, Tej Chauhan combines high-precision design with a futuristic vision.
The hour markers between 9 and 12 o'clock are called "party time markers" and create a striking contrast with the gold. The date is displayed in a font created by Tej Chauhan and is a vibrant red. Each day of the week is also represented in a different color, seemingly representing the emotions of the week.
The case back features a sapphire crystal caseback with special engraving. One side of the strap bears the words "The time is now" and the other "TC Souvenirs of The Near Future©." The polished yellow gold-colored cover and pushers were designed by Tej Chauhan and are engraved with "Rado x TC."
Combining Tej Chauhan's signature minimalist aesthetic with Rado's innovative material technology, the piece has a futuristic feel yet timeless appeal.
