Hublot celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Big Bang with a special event

The Big Bang, Hublot's signature collection, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025. To commemorate this milestone, a special event will be held at the Hublot Ginza Boutique in Ginza, Tokyo.

The special event featured the Big Bang 20th Anniversary, which was released this year. This masterpiece follows the design of the original Big Bang released in 2005, but is equipped with the in-house chronograph movement, Unico.

The Big Bang 20th Anniversary comes in five models: Titanium Ceramic, King Gold Ceramic, Red Magic, All Black, and Full Magic Gold. All models are limited edition, with 500 each of the Titanium Ceramic and All Black, 250 of the King Gold Ceramic, and 100 each of the Red Magic and Full Magic Gold.

In addition, Matthias Butte, Director of Research and Development at Hublot's headquarters in Switzerland, will be visiting Japan to coincide with the event. A talk event has been planned with Masamasa Hirota, Editor-in-Chief of the watch magazine Chronos Japan and also known as "Watch Professor." The two will discuss not only the must-see details of the Big Bang, but also watchmaking at Hublot's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, and cutting-edge research and development.

Mathias BUTTET
Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1964, he currently serves as the Director of Research and Development at Hublot's Swiss headquarters. After working for Nouvelle Lemania, Vacheron Constantin, and Franck Muller, he founded BNB Concept in 2004 and has held his current position since 2010. This is his first visit to Japan in approximately 10 years.

Hublot has developed unique materials through its own research and development, such as its highly scratch-resistant patented 18K gold "Magic Gold," its multi-colored "Magic Ceramic," and a wide variety of colored sapphire crystals, and has used them in its luxury watches. Butte is at the helm of this innovative Manufacture Hublot. This event, which allows visitors to learn about the Manufacture Hublot, which is not open to the public and is difficult for end users to learn about, will satisfy the desire for knowledge for many watch enthusiasts.

We will be inviting three groups of six webChronos readers to this special event. If you would like to participate, please fill out the necessary information in the application form below. The application deadline is 11:59 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025.It is.

The event will also feature drinks and finger foods, as well as a raffle with Butte and Hirota. Please enjoy this special talk by Butte, who has created materials that embody the spirit of Hublot, an exquisite fusion of "science and alchemy" and "playfulness and boldness."

New models of the Big Bang celebrating its 20th anniversary will be gathered together

The event venue, the Hublot Ginza Boutique, will feature five Big Bang 20th Anniversary models that were announced at Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2025.

This new model combines the design and mechanism of the original Big Bang, which was released in 2005 and is still in the lineup as the "Big Bang Original," with the current model equipped with the in-house chronograph "Unico."

The biggest feature of this watch is that the movement, which was originally made by ETA, has been replaced with the in-house chronograph "Unico." While previous Unico models had openwork dials, this model has a solid dial. Furthermore, the stainless steel of the original model has been replaced with titanium, and the 18K red gold has been replaced with 18K King Gold. The crown and rotor feature the 20th anniversary logo, making this a model that is not just a reissue of the design, but also exudes a new feeling.

All of the Big Bang 20th Anniversary models are limited editions and are not always available in stores. This event will be a great opportunity to not only hear from Butte, but also to see the nostalgic yet new Big Bang collection.
