Omega x Swatch "Bio Ceramic Moon Swatch" limited edition model with Snoopy illustration released. On sale only on August 9th

The Bioceramic MoonSwatch, a collaboration between Swatch and Omega, has released a new model that will be available only on Saturday, August 9, 2025. This watch features the Sturgeon Moon, representing the full moon, and the world of Snoopy.

　The Bioceramic MoonSwatch was created as a joint mission between Swatch and Omega's Speedmaster Moonwatch. Since its launch in 2022, various variations have been released. Among these variations, one collection has attracted attention for being sold only on full moon days. The "MISSION TO EARTHPHASE - MOONSHINE GOLD" introduced in this article will be sold for one day only on Saturday, August 9, 2025, to coincide with the "Sturgeon Moon," which represents the full moon on that day.

"Moon Phase" using "Earth Phase" and Moonshine™ Gold

　In the American agricultural calendar, each month's full moon is given a name, and August is known as the Sturgeon Moon. The new Bioceramic MoonSwatch, which will be sold exclusively on Sturgeon Moon Day, features an "Earth Phase" display that shows the phases of the Earth as seen from the Moon, and a "Moon Phase" display that shows the phases of the Moon. Incidentally, this is the first time a MoonSwatch with both Earth Phase and Moon Phase displays has been released since "MISSION TO EARTHPHASE" in November of last year.

　Even more noteworthy is that this moon phase is coated in Moonshine™ gold. Moonshine™ gold is a proprietary alloy developed by Omega in 2019, which adds silver, copper, and palladium to create a lighter hue than conventional 18K yellow gold. This hue was inspired by the light of the moon shining in the night sky. Another advantage is that it is resistant to aging.

　The Earth phase, as seen from the Moon, changes every 29.5 days, just like the Moon's phase as seen from Earth. The Earth phase is visible through a small aperture on the dial, revealing the Earth in all its forms during a full Moon and a new Moon. This mechanism, a poetic reinterpretation of the retrograde mechanism, moves counterclockwise, in the opposite direction to the moon in the moon phase display.

　Just below the Earth Phase window, Snoopy, also known as the flying ace, is depicted sitting on the moon's surface with his best friend, Woodstock, who often serves as his co-pilot. This illustration has a secret: when illuminated with UV light, a speech bubble bearing the phrase "I beat everybody" appears. This phrase playfully expresses the pioneering spirit of the Moonwatch, the first wristwatch to land on the moon, and pays homage to the first people to imagine things differently. The original phrase is a reference to the classic comic strip "Peanuts," published at the height of the space race. Snoopy, dressed as a brave astronaut, declares victory after a mission to the moon.

Bioceramic dark navy blue case

　Like other Bioceramic MoonSwatch models, this one features a case made of bioceramic, a Swatch-patented material made of two-thirds ceramic and one-third castor oil. The case is a dark navy blue color created specifically for this collection. While the watch retains iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch elements, such as the asymmetrical case and slim bezel with tachymeter scale, the color of the bioceramic material gives it a distinctive Swatch look.

　The case back is engraved with the watch's mission statement. The battery cover is designed with an earth-inspired design, allowing viewers to enjoy the watch's unique worldview from the case back as well. The strap is made of navy VELCRO® rubber, marking the first time rubber has been used in this collection. The loop is made of bioceramic.

　As mentioned above, this special "MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD" will be sold at selected Swatch stores for one day only, Saturday, August 9, 2025. The retail price is 57,200 yen (tax included). As with all Bioceramic MoonSwatches, purchases are limited to one per store.
