Founded in 1868, IWC is a brand that has earned a high reputation for its technologies such as chronographs, high magnetic resistance, and perpetual calendar mechanisms, and has produced many timeless models in terms of design that incorporates these technologies into watches. IWC is now launching a new program called "IWC. Curated."
IWC. Curated. offers historic vintage watches carefully selected by IWC Museum experts, restored by the company's skilled craftsmen, and then sold. This program is an effort to pass on this 150-year-plus heritage of technology and design to the next generation, and provides a place where enthusiasts can purchase timepieces with historical value with confidence.
As David Seyffer, director of the IWC Museum, says, "We want visitors to weave new stories by holding in their hands the watches that have shaped IWC's tradition," the program aims to connect past technology and design with modern experiences, rather than simply selling vintage watches.
The store carries a selection of IWC's iconic masterpieces
Each model in the collection is restored and inspected by skilled watchmakers at IWC headquarters. Genuine original parts from the time are used wherever possible, ensuring that the case, bracelet, and movement remain as close to original as possible. Each watch serviced and sold by IWC. Curated. comes with a certificate and an IWC international limited warranty, which can be extended to eight years upon registration. Considering that the products sold are vintage watches for which parts are difficult to obtain, this is an extremely comprehensive package.
The collection will initially be available only at selected stores in Switzerland, the UK, Dubai, and Japan. The lineup includes an impressive lineup of timepieces, including the 1970s Ingenieur SL (Ref. 1832) designed by Gérald Genta, the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph (Ref. 3750) with a perpetual calendar developed by Kurt Klaus, and the Mark 11, an anti-magnetic watch for the Royal Air Force.
