A. Lange & Söhne has announced a new Richard Lange Jumping Seconds watch. This rare model, limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, features an 18K pink gold dial and an 18K white gold case. It features a jumping seconds mechanism, a power control mechanism, and a zero-reset mechanism.

A. Lange & Söhne has announced a new model of the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds, limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. As its name suggests, the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds is a complication watch equipped with a jumping seconds mechanism that moves the second hand in steps.
This limited edition model is a new addition to the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds line. It features a classic 18K pink gold dial. Manual winding (Cal. L.094.1). 50 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve of approximately 42 hours. 18K white gold case (diameter 39.9 mm, thickness 10.6 mm). Water resistant to 3 bar. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide. Price upon request.
The dial is crafted from 18K pink gold. Its warm color complements the overall classic design. The layout, which displays the hours, minutes, and seconds on separate subdials, was inspired by the Chronometer No. 93 by Johann Heinrich Seiffert, a genius Dresden watchmaker who is said to have influenced Ferdinand Adolph Lange.
The main feature of this watch is the seconds display at the top of the dial, with the minutes display at the bottom right and the hours display at the bottom left. The small triangular window at 6 o'clock is normally the same color as the dial, but turns red when the power reserve falls below 10 hours.
In addition to the jumping seconds, this watch is also equipped with a power control mechanism and a zero reset mechanism. The power control mechanism constantly supplies a constant amount of energy to the balance, whether the mainspring is fully wound or not. In a typical mechanical watch, when the mainspring is not fully wound, there is insufficient torque and not enough energy can be transmitted to the balance, but this does not happen with this watch, which is equipped with a power control mechanism. The zero reset mechanism stops the balance when the crown is pulled out and instantly resets the second hand to zero. This makes it easier to set the time accurately.
The 18K white gold case measures 39.9mm in diameter and 10.6mm thick, giving it the elegant size of a dress watch. It features three-dimensional details such as short curved lugs and a polished and hairline finish.
The see-through case back allows you to view the Cal. L094.1 mechanical hand-wound movement, which features a German silver three-quarter plate with striped decoration, a hand-engraved balance cock, a beat error correction mechanism with a swan-neck spring, gold chatons, and blued screws, all of which are in the Glashütte style.
