Campanola releases two limited edition all-black models with the theme of "lightless space"

Citizen CAMPANOLA, a brand that beautifully expresses functions for enjoying time using cutting-edge technology, has released limited edition models of the Cosmosign, which displays the movement of celestial bodies, the origin of time, and the Minute Repeater, which tells the time with a clear tone reminiscent of the suikinkutsu (water chimes) found in Japanese gardens.
Both models feature cases made of Duratect DLC, which boasts excellent abrasion resistance, ensuring their beautiful shine will last. The sapphire crystal is also coated with 99% clarity to reduce reflections, making the dial easier to read. The strap is made of high-quality crocodile leather with a thick, bamboo-patterned finish for comfort.

　Since its launch in 2000, Campanola has continued to propose unique designs and complex quartz movements based on the design concept of "the beauty of space." This latest model begins with the question, "Why is space dark?" and depicts the vast universe, which cannot be filled with light, as a "lightless space," expressed in black, a color that absorbs all colors without reflecting. The exterior is made of Duratect DLC, which creates a unique luster and dark shine, enhancing the expression of the lightless space. Looking into the "lightless space" enclosed within Campanola's distinctive three-dimensional dome-shaped sapphire crystal will awaken your admiration for space and your intellectual curiosity.

　The CAMPANOLA/Cosmosign is a popular model that displays the movement of celestial bodies, the origin of time, through a meticulously laid out star chart, realistically recreating the starry sky. It accurately lays out 1,027 stars with magnitudes of 4.8 or higher visible at 35 degrees north latitude, as well as 166 nebulae and star clusters such as the Andromeda Galaxy and the Orion Nebula. It displays these details through 14 precision printing plates. This model, inspired by the shining stars in the pitch-black universe, features a black case with Duratect DLC coating, a black dial, and a black trivet ring, further enhancing the starry sky.

　Inspired by the suikinkutsu, a refined Japanese garden décor, the CAMPANOLA Minute Repeater offers two high and low tones, resembling the sound of a koto (harp) created by water droplets. Another Campanola feature is the ability to change the alarm tone for morning, noon, and evening. The dial design is inspired by the ripples created by droplets falling from a suikinkutsu hand-washing basin onto the surface of water at the bottom of an underground jar. To recreate this intricate pattern, the watch was created using electroforming. Electroforming offers high levels of precision, faithfully replicating extremely minute details of 0.05 to 0.1 micrometers, allowing for delicate and beautiful creations. Based on the theme of black, which symbolizes a "lightless space," the watch uses silver metal parts to express a subtle glow.
