Richard Mille has announced two new models in its RM 30-01 Automatic Declutchable Rotor series. Crafted from the lightweight and durable proprietary materials Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT®, these automatic movements feature a rotor with a declutch mechanism.

Richard Mille has announced two new models in the RM 30-01 Automatic Declutchable Rotor series: one with a case combining dark blue Quartz TPT® and white Quartz TPT®, and the other with a case combining black ceramic and Carbon TPT®.

This watch has a cool, all-black exterior. The skeleton dial reveals the movement, with its baseplate and bridges made of grade 5 titanium. Automatic winding (Cal. RMAR2). 38 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve: approximately 55 hours. Black ceramic and Carbon TPT® case (49.94mm x 42mm, 17.59mm thick). Water resistant to 50m. Priced at 220,000 CHF.

This model features an intricate pattern in dark blue Quartz TPT®. The vibrant colors used on the power reserve indicator and indexes emphasize its sporty appeal. Automatic movement (Cal. The dial, featuring sporty colors, is skeletonized, allowing the inner workings to be seen. It is also packed with Richard Mille-style complications. An oversized date display, displayed by two discs, is placed at the 4 o'clock position, improving the visibility of the date.
The small hand at 3 o'clock and the "H," "D," and "W" displays are the function selector. On a typical watch, pulling out the crown switches between functions such as winding the mainspring, adjusting the calendar, and adjusting the time, but on this watch, pressing the push button at 2 o'clock moves the selector, allowing you to switch the crown's functions. A C-shaped power reserve indicator is located in the center of the dial.

The variable-geometry rotor, from which the model takes its name, is a unique mechanism that automatically disconnects the rotor from the winding mechanism when the mainspring reaches its maximum winding capacity of 55 hours. Then, when the power reserve drops to 40 hours, the rotor reconnects to the winding mechanism and begins winding the mainspring. The rotor's operating status can be monitored by an on/off indicator at 11 o'clock.

The Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT® materials used in the case are composites made by layering parallel fibers of silica thread or carbon fiber under pressure and heat, resulting in a random pattern and high durability.
