Timex has announced the "Q Timex 1972 Time Machine Reissue," which recreates the floating hour markers of the 1972 model. The gold-colored polished case is a plump, thick tonneau shape with a highly three-dimensional finish. The geometrically patterned bracelet and distinctive dial bring the charm of the 1970s design to the present day.

A three-dimensional, striking gold-colored reproduction model

Timex has announced the Q Timex 1972 Time Machine Reissue, a faithful reproduction of the model released in 1972. Its most distinctive feature is its plump, three-dimensional tonneau-shaped case. The 39mm gold-colored case is polished all over, creating a striking silhouette.

Like the case, the gold-colored, polished bracelet features H-shaped links connected by hexagonal links, creating a retro design. Improved processing technology has enhanced the precision of this geometric pattern, resulting in an edgy, modern finish.

The retro, geometric bracelet features a polished gold finish, just like the case, creating a design that matches the impact of the case.

A distinctive feature of this model is the "floating hour markers" seen in the original model. Rather than placing the hour markers on the dial, they are attached to the endpaper, floating above the dial. The thick, impactful rectangular hour markers with a black line in the center, contrasted with the hour and minute hands that correspond to them, form the core of this model's design code. Furthermore, the hour and minute hands are lower (closer to the dial) and the hour markers are higher (farther away from the dial), a major departure from the typical design, creating an impact at first glance. The background dial features a brown tiger's eye design.

The "floating hour markers" float above the dial. The design echoes the hour and minute hands, making this a distinctive feature. The three-dimensional dome-shaped crystal also creates a retro atmosphere.

An attempt was made to recreate the same model in 2012. However, the technology available at the time was not sufficient to recreate the floating hour markers of the original model. This makes this latest reissue the most complete reissue to date, and its appeal lies in the fact that the iconic styling can now be enjoyed with ease and at modern quality standards.
