Armin Strom presents the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon, a new interpretation of its in-house micro-rotor movement. The main plate is coated in salmon-colored PVD, and the stainless steel case is paired with a gray nubuck leather strap.
The world's first movement incorporating a stopwork declutch mechanism
The movement used is the Caliber ASB19, the world's first movement to incorporate a stopwork declutch mechanism within the barrel. A stopwork mechanism in a wristwatch is a mechanism that improves accuracy by using only the most stable range of torque in the mainspring. Conventional stopwork (such as the Maltese cross) physically limits operation when the mainspring is fully wound or nearly unwound, preventing it from using unstable torque ranges.
In contrast, the stopwork declutch mechanism is designed to control the transmission of power to the escapement, ensuring a constant torque to the balance throughout the entire power reserve of approximately 72 hours. This results in improved isochronism, contributing to improved precision and stability. The patented structure of the combination of the clutch mechanism and micro-rotor built into the barrel achieves high performance despite the compact size of the automatic movement.
The movement can be viewed from both the dial and back. All parts, including the bridges and screws, are finished to the highest standards in the company's workshops in Biel/Bienne, allowing the circular graining, Geneva stripes, and circular graining to be enjoyed from every angle.
Limited production of 25 bottles per year
The salmon-colored main plate, a major feature of this watch, was created in collaboration with independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, and features a complex and beautiful handmade guilloched pattern that adds depth and texture. Another attractive feature is that the finish can be directly enjoyed through the transparent sapphire dial.
At Armin Strom, every watch is assembled twice to ensure perfect functionality and finish. The Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon is a limited edition model, with only 25 pieces produced per year.
