Kollokium is launching its first offline launch in Japan. The first release is the "Project 01 Variant G "Powder Blue," a model from the "Project 01" series, known for its three-dimensional pin indexes, depicting a powder blue worldview. Both are popular models that have already sold out online, and only a limited number will be available in offline stores.
Colloquium, a project-based watch platform
Kollokium is a project founded in 2020 by three creators: Manuel Emsch, Bert Nussbaumer, and Amour Cindy. The name is a respelling of the English word for discussion forum, and the project is centered on exploring watches that offer "affordable alternatives." While maintaining its identity as a mechanical watch, the project emphasizes going beyond the boundaries of traditional watchmaking and freely and uncompromisingly giving form to the imagination.
Its cutting-edge approach and design have garnered praise, and the Project 01 series, which has only been sold online, has sold out every time. It has also been nominated for the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG) in 2024, strengthening its presence among watch enthusiasts around the world.
For this latest expansion in Japan, actual models will be available in two stores, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka. In addition, Colloquium Tokyo Outpost has been established as a general point of contact for the domestic market, and a support system including after-sales service has also been put in place. It is of great significance that a place has now been established in Japan where people can actually touch and experience products that until now have only been available in limited locations such as overseas watch fairs.

Project 01 is a model that strongly reflects "Neubrutalist horology," an essential keyword when discussing the Colloquium. Inspired by Brutalist architecture, symbolized by exposed concrete, the two-piece die-cast stainless steel case and bezel-less, cylindrical, box-shaped sapphire crystal embody this philosophy. By deliberately avoiding polished or brushed finishes, the watch brings to the forefront the "roughness and unfinished beauty" typical of industrial products, a unique feature not found in other brands.
The dial is an art piece that intentionally pixelates a digital image and reconstructs it in three dimensions. When viewed up close, the texture emerges as a collection of regularly-spaced cylinders, while from a little distance, 12 maxi-indexes appear. The design aims for a dual visual experience, combining a practical time display with a "transhumanist" image in which particles of information appear.
The "Project 01 Variant G "Powder Blue"" features a dial with 468 pin indexes finished in blue PVD on a blue base plate. Combining six different pin heights creates a unique sense of depth, and the Super-LumiNova coating on the pins glows in the dark, accentuating the three-dimensional effect. The Variant G is available in two types, "G1" and "G2," with different hand coloring. The G1 features blue hour and minute hands and a white second hand, while the G2 features white hour and minute hands and a blue second hand, giving each model a different character with a contrast to the dial. Both the G1 and G2 are sold out online, but a limited number will be available in stock to coincide with the launch of the Japanese market.
