Casio has announced the new MRG-B2100D-2AJR from its MR-G line of G-SHOCK watches. This full-metal model features a deep blue dial that evokes the morning mist surrounding a five-story pagoda in Yamagata Prefecture.

Casio G-SHOCK's top-of-the-line MR-G line has released a new model, the MRG-B2100D-2AJR. This new full-metal watch is based on the popular 2100 series, which combines a round dial with an octagonal bezel.
The watch features a lattice-patterned dial inspired by wooden joinery. The indigo dial evokes the morning mist surrounding the five-story pagoda in Yamagata Prefecture, where the MR-G is manufactured. It's Tough Solar. It lasts for approximately 18 months on a full charge (in power save mode). It has a Ti case (49.5mm long x 44.4mm wide, 13.6mm thick). It's water resistant to 20 bar. It's priced at 572,000 yen (tax included).
The dial is completely analog, with no digital display. It features a three-dimensional design inspired by the traditional Japanese technique of woodworking. This model is equipped with a Tough Solar system that generates power through solar power, and the lattice-like dial also serves a functional purpose by capturing the light needed for charging. The deep blue is a traditional Japanese color called "hanadai-iro" (indigo blue). The elegant hue evokes the morning mist surrounding the five-story pagoda in Yamagata Prefecture.
The simple design, with a date display at 3 o'clock and a pointer-style day display at 7:30, makes it easy to wear in a wide range of situations, both on and off the job.
The complexly shaped case and bezel are made up of 27 individual parts. Shock absorbers are built into the gaps between each part of the bezel and the case, providing the shock resistance you expect from a G-SHOCK.
The bezel top is made of Cobalion, which boasts excellent hardness and a shine equivalent to platinum, the bracelet links are made of DAT55G, which is approximately three times harder than pure titanium, and the case, case back, push buttons, and crown are made of 64 titanium.
