Gerald Charles unveiled the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite, a watch with a meteorite dial from the Maestro collection, which features a unique asymmetrical case. The new model comes in two colors, Dark Blast and Silver, each of which dynamically depicts the moment of a meteorite impact and the silence that follows. Only 100 of each will be sold worldwide.
Two timepieces themed around meteorite impacts
Gerald Charles unveiled the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite, the first watch to combine a small second with a dial made from iron meteorite. Based on the theme proposed by CEO Federico Giviani, "to express the momentary event itself," this unique limited edition timepiece depicts the collision of a meteorite with the Earth.

The lineup consists of two models with contrasting looks: "Dark Blast" and "Silver."
The highlight of both models is the dynamic design at 6 o'clock. The combination of an upward-radiating aperture and a three-dimensional star-shaped small seconds (Indicator de Marche) represents the shock wave generated by a meteorite impact and the epicenter of the explosion. Furthermore, the hour markers are positioned at irregular angles, as if blown apart by the force of the explosion, creating a unique and playful look across the entire dial.
The dial is made from the Muonionalusta meteorite, discovered in northern Sweden. This meteorite is estimated to be over 45 billion years old, and is known as one of the most difficult materials on Earth to obtain, with extremely limited remaining stock. While this material is difficult to machine, the brand has used electrical discharge machining technology to create a complex shape that matches the Maestro case shape.
The two new models each feature a different theme, depicting two distinct moments in a meteorite impact. The Dark Blast timepiece, with its fiery gradient small seconds dial, is inspired by the exact moment of impact. The dark gray meteorite layer is combined with a red anodized aluminum base plate, expressing the violent energy of the moment of explosion.
The "Silver" model, on the other hand, evokes the silence after an explosion and the crystallization of matter. The dial features a silver-colored meteorite layer combined with a rhodium-plated base plate. Combined with the fully polished case, it evokes a calmer worldview, in stark contrast to the Dark Blast model.
Both models are equipped with the Caliber GCA2011 automatic movement, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, which combines excellent shock resistance with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours, while being just 3.7mm thick.
