Blancpain has announced the new Villeret Traditionnelle Chinese Calendar 2026 model. This complication watch features a Chinese calendar based on the lunar-solar calendar. Its theme is the Chinese zodiac sign for 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse.
The Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar introduces a new model themed around the Chinese zodiac sign for 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse. It features a salmon rose Grand Feu enamel dial. Automatic movement (Cal. 3638). 39 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve: approximately 168 hours. Pt case (diameter 45.2mm, thickness 15.1mm). Water resistant to 3 bar. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide. The salmon rose dial is crafted from lustrous Grand Feu enamel. The elegant Roman numeral hour markers are crafted from 18K white gold. The subdial at 3 o'clock displays the five elements and yin and yang, the subdial at 9 o'clock displays the date and month of the Chinese lunar calendar, and the subdial at 12 o'clock displays the traditional Chinese two-hour time and zodiac sign. At 6 o'clock is a moon phase display featuring Blancpain's iconic face. The numerals around the dial and a blued steel serpentine hand allow the date to be read using the commonly used Gregorian calendar.
The large 45.2mm diameter case is crafted from platinum and features Villeret's iconic double-step bezel and short, protruding lugs. Watches with complex calendars often have correctors or push buttons on the case side for adjusting the calendar. However, this model's case side is free of these, resulting in a clean appearance. This is made possible by Blancpain's unique under-lug correctors. In this model, correctors are located on the four lugs and the back of the case side, allowing the calendar to be adjusted with a fingertip.
The case back allows you to view the in-house automatic movement, Cal. 3638. You can enjoy the intricate hand-finished work of artisans, such as the rotor engraved with a dynamic horse in 22K gold, and the striped decoration and chamfering of the bridges.
