IWC has announced the new Portugieser Chronograph Ceratanium®. The all-black design, from the dial to the case, strap, and even the movement, is crafted from Ceratanium®, a revolutionary material that took IWC eight years to develop.
Introducing the Portugieser Chronograph with a Ceratanium® case
IWC has announced the new Portugieser Chronograph Ceratanium®. This model is based on the company's signature elegant chronograph, the Portugieser Chronograph, and is limited to 1500 pieces worldwide, with an all-black exterior.

This new, limited edition Portugieser Chronograph model is finished in all black. The case is made of Ceratanium®. Automatic (Cal. 69355). 27 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 46 hours. Ceratanium® case (diameter 41mm, thickness 13mm). Water resistant to 3 bar. Limited to 1500 pieces worldwide. Price: 2,203,300 yen (tax included).
The black dial is combined with Arabic numerals and hands in the same color, creating a cool impression that is quite different from previous Portugieser Chronographs. The 30-minute counter is located at 12 o'clock and the small seconds at 6 o'clock, with each sub-dial lowered by one level and a diagonal minute track around the outer edge of the dial, creating a three-dimensional look despite the monotone design.

The case is made of Ceratanium®, a material that IWC spent eight years developing. Made from a titanium alloy base, Ceratanium® is fired at high temperatures to form a ceramic layer on the surface. It is a revolutionary material that combines the light weight of titanium with the high hardness of ceramic and a metallic texture. Previously, it was only used in the Pilot's Watch collection, but this is the first time it has been used in the Portugieser collection. Like the dial and case, the band is also black. The rubber strap with a square pattern gives the watch a sporty finish.

The see-through case back allows you to view the in-house automatic chronograph movement, Cal. 69355. The movement is unified in black, and you can enjoy the finishes such as striped decoration and perlage, as well as the movement of the column wheel and rotor.
