The technique of layering these materials, both crafted to a thickness of 0.2mm, requires high technical skill, and this work was handled by GT Cadrans, a specialist dial manufacturer.

Czapek has unveiled the "Promenade Midnight Pearl," featuring a patented dial that layers mother-of-pearl and aventurine glass. The natural shimmer of the mother-of-pearl peeks through the starry aventurine glass, creating a fantastical finish reminiscent of the midnight sky reflected on a still water surface.

Mother-of-pearl refers to the nacreous layer formed on the inside of the mother-of-pearl oyster that produces pearls. Due to its layered structure of calcium carbonate and organic matter, it creates light interference, resulting in a characteristic where the color changes depending on the viewing angle and light source. In watches, the nacreous layer is cut into thin sheets and used, making it a popular material for creating unique and expressive watch dials.

The dial for this watch was created by GT Cadrans, a dial specialist manufacturer based near Lausanne, Switzerland. Even at GT Cadrans, a company with high technical capabilities, the dial incorporates techniques that only two specialized craftsmen are capable of performing.
The base material is Tahitian mother-of-pearl, which has a unique gray color and iridescence of purple and green. This is processed to a thickness of 0.2 mm, and a 0.2 mm thick layer of aventurine glass is placed on top to form a single dial. Aventurine glass is characterized by containing fine metallic particles, and in this piece, the blue color and the sparkle of the metallic particles give it an appearance reminiscent of the night sky.
The combination of aventurine glass and mother-of-pearl creates a dial with depth and rich variation, where the color and appearance change depending on the viewing angle and light source, while a shimmer spreads across it. Furthermore, since each of the two materials has a unique appearance, their combination makes this timepiece a truly one-of-a-kind timepiece.
