The Admiral's Cup is an international ocean-going yacht race that was started in 1957 by members of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, a British sailing club. Teams of three yachts from each country compete for total points. It was held every other year for 23 years, but the last race was held in 2003. It has now become a legendary yacht race.
Corum has been paying homage to this race since 1960 with the Admiral's Cup collection. The first model was a waterproof square model, rare at the time, featuring a classic design with Roman numerals. It was not until 1983 that the current design was updated. Its distinctive features include the use of international maritime signal flags on the indexes and a 12-sided bezel and case modeled after the nuts on a yacht.
The Japan-exclusive model announced this time is based on the Admiral's Cup Legend 42 and features the collection's concept color, gun blue, on the bezel, making the maritime flag stand out even more.
The Admiral Collection, which has been associated with many major nautical events for over 50 years, is sure to attract attention with its refreshing colors and eye-catching designs.
