Vacheron Constantin has announced a new model of its perpetual calendar watch, the "Traditional Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar," which allows the wearer to select between two different vibration frequencies. The Traditional Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar was first introduced in 2019, and this new model boasts an even longer power reserve of up to approximately 70 days, allowing wearers to fully enjoy the functionality of a perpetual calendar.

The multi-layered dial features openwork, allowing you to appreciate its three-dimensional form and hand-engraved guilloché decoration on the slate gray plate. A curved power reserve indicator is located at 12 o'clock, a month indicator at 4:30, and another at 7:30, all housed in transparent sapphire crystal, achieving a balance of functionality and aesthetics. The leap year count, essential for a perpetual calendar, is indicated by a disc at 6 o'clock.
Furthermore, this model's calendar display features a mechanism that instantly jumps and switches. While this mechanism generally requires a lot of torque and is considered to lead to a decrease in accuracy, the adoption of a new double-gear mainspring winding mechanism has significantly reduced the power required to change the date.
This watch allows you to switch between two oscillation frequencies: a high-beat 36,000 vibrations per hour in active mode and a low-beat 8640 vibrations per hour in standby mode. Pressing the push button at the 8 o'clock position on the side of the case switches the selector at the 9 o'clock position. The power reserve lasts approximately 4 days in active mode and approximately 70 days in standby mode. The two balance wheels, each controlling a different oscillation frequency, can be admired through the transparent case back.
The 42mm diameter case is made of platinum and features 3 ATM water resistance, making it suitable for everyday use. The strap is made of textured calf leather with striking red stitching.
