Decor Seiko has announced a new clock, the "Sprigen Clock 'Sho'". This clock combines a cast metalwork piece by metal artist Ryohei Miyata with a skeletonized quartz movement and features a dolphin, a symbol of Miyata's "Sprigen" series.

Seiko's top-of-the-line clock brand, Decor Seiko, has unveiled the "Sprigen Clock 'Sho'." This clock combines a cast metalwork piece by metalwork artist Ryohei Miyata with a skeletonized quartz movement. "Sprigen" means "soaring" in German.
A new Decor Seiko model combining metalwork by Ryohei Miyata with a skeleton movement. The final assembly of the movement is performed by skilled craftsmen at Seiko Watch. Quartz movement. Aluminum case (556mm high x 284mm wide x 170mm deep). Limited to 10 units in Japan. 3.3 million yen (tax included). Scheduled for release on October 9, 2026 (Friday).
Surrounding the movement are three dolphins soaring across the open sea, a symbol of Miyata's "Sprigen" series. The dynamic splashes of water embody the dynamism of life and the image of soaring towards the future. The sculptural form, which leaves ample room for interpretation, allows the dolphins to appear as a family or companions, enabling each viewer to conjure a different story.
This piece was entirely created by Miyata, from the creation of the prototype to the assembly after casting, coloring, and decorative finishing. The complex colors were achieved using the maki-e technique, and the beauty and shimmer of the waves are expressed by using a variety of foil materials such as pure gold leaf, blue gold leaf, silver leaf, and colored foil. The signature of Miyata is engraved on the bottom of the main body. The total weight is approximately 8.6 kg, and the base is made of black granite.
The movement, featuring a straight-line gear train, offers both the precision of quartz and the aesthetic appeal of mechanical design. The dauphine-shaped hour and minute hands and small seconds subdial create a relaxed sense of time, while the Roman numeral indices around the outer edge add an elegant touch. Powered by a single AA alkaline battery, the battery life is approximately 3 years. Only 10 units will be manufactured in Japan, and they are scheduled to be released on October 9, 2026 (Friday).
