Audemars Piguet has unveiled the final model of its ultra-thin perpetual calendar watch, the "Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin (RD#2)." This latest model features a sunburst-finished pink gold dial, giving it a glamorous look. To achieve its slim profile, all calendar mechanisms except the moon phase are operated by hands, with the month and leap year indicator at 3 o'clock, the date at 6 o'clock, the day of the week and day/night indicator at 9 o'clock, and the moon phase at 12 o'clock.

The sunburst-finished pink gold dial houses the calendar mechanism. All calendar functions, except for the moon phase, are operated by hands.

The 41mm diameter case boasts an astonishingly thin profile for a complication watch, measuring just 6.2mm thick. The bezel and case back are made of polished bulk metallic glass (BMG), while the middle case is constructed from titanium, achieving both lightness and robustness. BMG is a material primarily used in the semiconductor and golf industries, and many varieties exist. Audemars Piguet has co-developed its own palladium-based alloy, achieving superior wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appeal befitting a luxury timepiece. The bracelet is made of titanium, and the studs are crafted from BMG.

The exterior combines Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) and titanium. The BMG used in this model is a palladium-based alloy that was jointly developed in-house.

The see-through case back allows you to admire every detail of the movement, including the openworked rotor shaped like the brand logo, the striped decoration, and the beveling. The Cal. 5133 movement is an ultra-thin automatic perpetual calendar movement with a thickness of just 2.9 mm, and is composed of 256 parts. To achieve this thin profile, the calendar mechanism, which was previously a three-layer structure, has been integrated into a single layer, and the dial also serves as a bridge.
