Zenith has unveiled the Defy Extreme Lapis Lazuli II, a new addition to its Defy collection. This modern and sharply contrasting timepiece features a case constructed from forged carbon and titanium, paired with a lapis lazuli dial. Only 25 pieces will be produced worldwide, and it comes with a rubber strap and a hook-and-loop strap that can be changed without tools.
Stealth-like contemporary design
Zenith unveiled the Defy Extreme Lapis Lazuli II, a new addition to its Defy Extreme mechanical chronograph watch line, which is capable of measuring time in increments of 1/100th of a second. Following the previous model released as part of the company's 160th anniversary celebrations, this timepiece features an openworked lapis lazuli dial.

The previous model, the "Defy Extreme Lapis Lazuli," was a model that combined stainless steel and 18K yellow gold with the color of lapis lazuli, creating a powerful yet glamorous contrast. In contrast, this second model, the "Defy Extreme Lapis Lazuli II," uses forged carbon and titanium for the case material. The dark tones and the matte texture unique to forged carbon give it a more refined and sharp impression.
The lapis lazuli dial, continuing from the previous model, features cutouts to match the four counters, creating a striking contrast with the mechanical movement. Furthermore, the pyrite inclusions found in lapis lazuli change the way light reflects with each viewing angle, adding a delicate golden shimmer to the watch's appearance.
The movement continues to feature the Cal. El Primero 9004 from its predecessor. It has escapements for timekeeping at 36,000 vibrations per hour and escapements for the chronograph at 360,000 vibrations per hour, and the central chronograph hand rotates once per second, enabling extremely precise measurements in units of 1/100th of a second.
This model comes with a black rubber strap with a folding buckle, as well as a black hook-and-loop strap. These straps can be easily swapped out without the need for special tools, thanks to a strap system integrated into the case back.
